@900one .... select 'copy 2' in the layers pallet just as he did. The just above that you should see a small window that says 'normal'. Click on it and a list should pop up so you can select color dodge.

It's in your Layers palette in a pull down menu that has "Normal" as the default. Click on that and you'll have many options for blending modes and Color Dodge is almost halfway down.
